God's law is in my heart

This week our bible reading comes from the book of Jeremiah and it has a great image in it; that of God’s law being written in our hearts.

Recently I was watching a couple of young kids playing and making up the rules of the game they were enjoying. Every time something was not working right, another rule was added until it became more and more complex.

Sometimes we do that to life. We plug the gaps with rule after rule until the game of life is unworkable.

I see our faith in Jesus Christ through the new covenant as a relationship that guides us rather than rules that govern us.

Our life as Christians should be lived out through love and grace rather than a set of rules and regulations.

May we always remember that.
