Love is the answer

Over the last couple of weeks it has been sad to hear so much about terrorism in the news. We have seen multiple instances of people killed in violent acts that are only designed to escalate fear and cause division in our community.

Governments are working hard to keep people safe in the light of these acts, and we as individuals need to consider how we respond.

As Christians our call is to follow Christ and his teachings. Jesus calls us to love our enemy and do good to those who persecute us. It is easier said than done, however our call is not to spiral into a pathway of hatred, but to offer love and acceptance to all.

May we as individuals take the sometimes difficult path of showing Christ’s values in our community; turning from fear and hatred wherever it appears, accepting those who are culturally different to us, and sharing Gods love.
